For starters, I'm getting a sinus infection.
Granted, I feel way better today. I took dayquill and used some nose spray. Que buena. And yes Mom, I'm taking my antibiotics twice daily as directed on the bottle. :)
Anyway, so I'm getting sick and I'm tired as balls because I haven't been able to sleep with my nose clogged up like our toilets at home after we all eat copious amounts of ice cream or spicy foreign food. (Which is pretty bad, and hardly repairable.) But today I feel a lot better, aside from the lack of sleep.
So I'm blowing my nose every five minutes or sniffling non stop and my professor kept looking at me in class like I was about to sniff all the cold air out of the class room. Which I'm pretty sure I did because I've never sweat this much in my entire life.
As much as I love Spain, I hate the pollen.
Want to know what it feels like right now? Imagine this. You're walking through down town Apache Junction in Arizona, and the sun, which is radiating so much heat that you could probably cook an egg on the sidewalk, never sets. It's up before you are, and goes to sleep after you want to. Now, add, if you will, to this land of never ending sun and hot dry land, a fair amount of trees and pollen covered gorgeous flowers. Oh! And construction everywhere you turn, which is adding pollution to the environment and smog to a fairly clean city. So you have the crappy Arizona weather, with pollen counts higher than, I believe, Georgia ever hopes to reach even on it's worst days, with a COMPLETE LACK of wind. Sans the occasional draft from a tienda (store) with cracked doors allowing AC to blow into the streets... there's really not much of a cross breeze.
Why do I love this place so much?
Want to know how it feels to walk around in skimpy American clothes because you don't feel like buying local clothes yet? I'll tell you. I've been walking around in a cami and bermuda shorts today because it's SO. HOT. People have been stairing a little, but I figured it was because I have big boobs and they're fairly exposed in a cami, mind you, I did have a cardigan on before the sun reached it's peak after my class, but afterwards I was pretty much walking around in a shirt that covers nothing and shorts that cover everything. So I'm walking back to the apartment, getting various looks of "Wow, oh wait, she has tennis shoes on, must be American" or "Girl, put some clothes on." or "Damn." But NOTHING. I mean NOTHING prepared me for a man to follow me through a cross walk and down the street yelling dollar amounts seeing if I would turn around and take him up on his offer.
For God's sake, I had on a backpack and was holding books! I'm not a freaking prositute.
What an ass.
Mom, don't worry, a escaped said predator in a store kind of like CVS, without the pharmacy. He left and after I bought copious amounts of tissure returned to our apartment and here I am sharing my story with you fine folks...
Welp.
That's my event for the day.
... Viva España.
I'm gonna go take a three hour nap now. :)
<3
Buenos Días.
